That you're not fond of consoles anymore doesn't mean that we aren't, even though we have decent computers; most of the games that we're interested in aren't on PC or simply don't play as well. We also paid a lot of money for that paperweight, not to mention accessories and games that go with it and a TV that saw a good chunk of its usage coming from the PS3, so it's definitely not getting thrown away, not that that would fix the problem. The system is still under warranty, but getting it fixed (or most likely replaced) won't be free; it'll come at the cost of being unable to use it for at least two weeks, and likely losing all the time we invested in our games. This is incredibly frustrating... Sigh. @C.G.
