Art friday was yesterday, and the topic was: “The BEST Video Game EVER”. So I decided to put my urge of suggesting “E.T.” on the Atari as a candidate, and went to something a little more Mainstream. I thought Pong was pretty Iconic, as being one of the first games introduced into the Home around it’s time. So I quickly did up a Mock Pong screen.

I had a lot more time, so I whipped this up. XD Earthbound! Totally the BEST game, ever, for me. (Then again, that’d be a “My favorite game” section, ne?) But who cares! I had a few people acknowledge it, so there ya go!!

Come to think of it, I rant about EB very often, but I don’t actually draw anything from it. o_O First Fanart of EB I’ve done! HUZZAH! Ness and Mr. Saturn! — Lol, the background of Onett really looks like Moonside in this picture. XD;

I’ve been watching The GameOverThinker on YouTube for a while now, and I’ve been extremely fond of his deep thought about video games in a current world.

His last episode had mentioned something he wanted to get off his chest, the problem with Sonic the Hedgehog. I’m a huge Sonic fan, as many most likely know, and the topic actually inspired me. My boyfriend got into contact with MovieBob and I had mentioned I wanted to do a picture for his video.

This was said picture. ^_^ And the video below is where it’s featured. Good stuff! I actually can’t wait for “Act 2″. XDDD Hahaha. Bad joke..

So, been trying to get back into the swing of things; getting hit like a ton of bricks for inspiration on things to do OTHER than draw. XP New Forum Skin, Make a Movie, Make a fan-game, do everything else in the world like play games.

But, every once in a while I get a nice push for artwork. This was one of them. Well, everything except the background. XP;;

Or the shading for that matter… I was more inspired by the theoretics behind the meaning, more than “how to color it” or “what background should I use?”.

It’s basically like this… Shadow (as himself) now has to lead HIMSELF (child) in his new life, to be himself. In a metaphysical sense, he has to learn everything over again, thusly needing someone to take his hand, and show him the way.

I used paths with stroke widths for the lines, painterly style colored it (and screwed up on Chibi Shadow. ), then I found some of my RL Photo textures and pieced it together to try and create a park scene. But I think I went overboard. And yes, I realize that the pebbles under them are facing the wrong direction. XP I realized that too late.

Anywho…

So, I’d been meaning to draw a picture of Shadow with a Slurpee, again, to basically recreate an earlier image I did of Shadow drinking a slurpee with a Chao. I was sitting at the bus stop and wanted to do this, and it turned out really awesome!

I couldn’t think of a way to ink it, but I knew for sure I wanted to color this Painterly style. Though, I think I went overboard with the fur details. XD;; But, hey. ^^ It looks awesome with all the fur details. I’m very proud of how this image turned out, despite my cheaping out on the background for the last bit.

BTW, it’s supposed to be a cardboard cutout background, and cardboard hanging sun + cloud. XP I don’t remember initially why I wanted them to be cardboard, maybe to convey the point that summer seems artificial now, that I can’t enjoy it like I used to. But psychology aside, I present awesome picture! ^_^
